Fiestas de la Virgen de Guadalupe

For the first twelve days of December, different barrios of Sayulita make daily pilgrimages to the main church on the central plaza. At 5 AM each morning, cannons, fireworks, and church bells wake the town. Virgin altars appear in homes across every neighborhood. The celebration builds to December 12, when the plaza fills with music, prayers, processions, and fireworks late into the night.
