Humpback whales migrate from western Canada to the waters off Sayulita from December through March, with peak sightings in January and February. You can spot spouts and breaches from the beach and hilltops on a good day. Several tour operators run boat trips ranging from small panga excursions to catamaran tours. Expect to pay between $80 and $150 USD per person for a guided trip.
