Julia's

Julia's is a café on Calle Miramar, inside Plaza Nawalli, built around coffee, chocolate and cake. According to the café's own website, a married couple runs it. Julia makes the chocolates, cakes and other sweets in-house, as she has for years, and Jonas handles the coffee after about a decade as a home barista. He also works wood, and the site says the wooden pieces around the room are his. The couple writes that they have grown, picked and roasted beans from a few coffee plants at their home in Sayulita, their explanation for the care behind each cup. The café grew out of Julia's Jungle Kitchen, which Julia, originally from California, started in Sayulita in November 2015. A 2019 version of that business's website shows it ran on weekly pre-orders with a Thursday pickup and sold bone broth, kombucha and honey-sweetened chocolate bars. The listing gives hours of Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday, with a patio for sitting outside, which suits breakfast or a midday break. The website does not post hours; Instagram (@juliassayulita) is the place to confirm them. The site also keeps a photo gallery of cakes.
