Several of the town’s hotels sit on Avenida Revolución, the street you drive in on, a few minutes on foot from the plaza. Bungalows Jaqueline rents one- and two-bedroom bungalows with their own kitchens around a pool, which suits families. Hotel Riviera Sayulita is all suites, each with a kitchenette.

Hafa is the one with the bold red front and a small rooftop pool, and it takes pets on request. Hotel Vogue has bungalows with kitchenettes, a saltwater pool with a waterfall, and beach chairs and towels included. For something plain and central, Hotel Edén has nine rooms and a rooftop terrace for the sunset.

Only a couple of places put you on the beach itself. Hotel Azul Pitaya faces the surf break, with a 47-meter pool, its own stretch of sand with loungers and hammocks, a kitchen in every room and breakfast included.

The cheapest night on the sand is Camarón Campground, in a coconut grove on the north beach. Pitch a tent, rent a palapa for shade, or take a room upstairs; showers and bathrooms are shared. More about the beaches themselves is in the beach guide.

11 of them have a pool, and a few put it somewhere worth the climb. Avela Boutique Hotel, above the center, is adults only, with a saltwater pool, a hot tub and breakfast by the water. Sayulinda Hotel has a rooftop infinity pool looking over the town and the Pacific.

Further from the plaza, Pacific Inn Sayulita has a rooftop pool, a minimarket downstairs, and the beach about ten minutes away on foot. Hotel Samanu, on the road to Higuera Blanca, is about seven minutes from the center, with free parking and breakfast in its own restaurant.

La Redonda Surf Hostel is in the center, steps from the beach, with dorm beds, lockers, air conditioning and breakfast included. Its bar opens to everyone from 9 p.m., so pick it for the company, not for early nights.
