La Mexicana Spanish School

La Mexicana Spanish School is a language school in Plaza Cocula, on Carretera Punta de Mita in Sayulita. It is run by Juan and Gina, a Mexican couple who settled in Sayulita in 2017 and first gave Spanish and English classes on their home terrace. By 2022 they had relocated to the current premises and taken on more staff. Gina grew up in Mexico City and taught science there, and Juan, from Nayarit, studied linguistics and literature. The school says its lessons suit all levels and ages, combining conversation, grammar and immersive activities, with a focus on Mexican Spanish. Private lessons are one to one and last an hour. In October 2026 the school's site priced them, and online lessons, at 550 pesos each. Group classes take three to seven students, are offered between October and May, and need at least three people to go ahead. They are sold as prepaid packages, starting at 2,500 pesos for five hours, with study materials included. Immersion programs pair private lessons with outings such as cooking classes, hikes and seasonal market visits, and there is a version for children. Directory listings show it open weekdays from 9 AM to 7 PM.
