Northside Cafe

Northside Cafe is a breakfast and brunch spot on Calle Miramar, in Sayulita's quieter north end, on a street leading to the beach. The menu sets American breakfasts beside Mexican standards such as chilaquiles, fried tortilla pieces softened in salsa, with croissants, bagels, smoothies, fresh juices and organic coffee sourced locally. Breakfast burritos and banana pancakes turn up often in reviews. When Sayulita Life interviewed the chef in 2017, she said the burritos were the main draw and the kitchen made its own English muffins and breakfast sausage. The dedicated vegan section includes a burrito. The cafe's Tripadvisor profile calls it the "home of the original Golden Latte." The house recipe is a take on turmeric milk, a traditional Indian drink, with ginger, honey and cinnamon. Reviewers mention the Vampire, a beet and orange juice. Tables sit indoors under ceiling fans or outside along the street. There is a kids menu and an express menu for taking breakfast to the beach. Cards are accepted, though one Tripadvisor reviewer reported a 5 percent card fee in 2024. Most listings give a 7 a.m. daily opening, but closing times differ by listing, so an afternoon visit is worth confirming on Instagram.
