Paku Paku

Paku Paku is a Japanese street-food kitchen that now works out of Mucho Bueno, a bar at Calle José Mariscal 10, downtown. Its Instagram bills it as a ramen bar with karaoke. It is the Sayulita branch of a restaurant from Aguascalientes, which sisters Mariel and Gaby López opened after Gaby volunteered in Tokushima, Japan, Blackstone Magazine reported in 2025. They told the magazine the name imitates the sound of someone wolfing down food in big mouthfuls, a Japanese cousin of Mexico's ñam ñam. Ramen leads the menu, in shoyu, miso butter and spicy tan tan versions. At the Aguascalientes original, the magazine explained, shoyu is seasoned with soy sauce, miso butter adds butter and corn, and tan tan takes its heat from Korean gochujang and spiced ground meat, on wheat noodles in a kombu and shiitake broth. Vegans can order a tofu ramen. The menu also has gyoza, yakisoba, rice with kimchi and sushi. A 2025 Sayulita eating guide stopped short of calling the ramen authentic but said it comes nearer the real thing than earlier local attempts. Tables sit on a shaded patio. Listed hours are 6 pm to 11:30 pm, with a 10:30 pm close on Tuesdays.
